Day 42 - Balance

There is a need for balance in ones life.
No matter what shape or form that balance comes in, it is an essential part of ones being.
It is the ying for the yang.

Day 41 - Light in the darkness

Sometimes all we need is a light to guide us through the darkness, that glimmer of hope in a sea of confusion. This post goes out to a dear friend who is in need of that light... I hope she finds it.

Day 40 - Delicate dance of evasion

I've been watching this bad boy for awhile now, we've been playing a delicate dance of evasion. He comes out and basks in his glorious web only to scurry away when the camera comes out. He's playing me for a fool, hiding only when he hears the snap of the lens cap.
 Point for spider.
With grim determination I sat and waited, poised and ready for my moment of victory. And then my moment came.  I didn't hesitate, before he knew it I snapped his picture and victory was mine.
 Point for me.

Day 39 - GSD

My girls... Where would I be without them? They fill my house, my life, my heart. There is something majestic about a German Shepherd Dog, no matter at which age, they exude loyalty, bravery and empathy.

This is a breed that is fierce enough to protect its family but gentle enough to mother children. We are a home that will forever have a GSD on guard.

Day 38 - Window to the soul

There's something about the light in the eyes of a child; it remains bright and untainted from the harshness of the world. They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul, allowing glimpses of the true personality and energy of the spirit. If thats the case, then the eyes of this sweet little man tell us that the world is a perfect place to be and hope and love surround us all.

Day 35 - History

We seem to be losing our history, our roots are being tangled. We are a race of consumerism, our old is constantly being replaced with new. Our history is being torn down. Along my travels today I stumbled upon a little piece of history; a park that stands the test of time.

Day 33 - Rightful Place

My garden never ceases to amaze me, every year there is new growth staking its rightful place in the garden. Once that spot has been found the roots dig deep and its face turns to the sun.

Day 32 - Pink shoes and pigtails

Love comes in all shapes, colours and forms... Mine came in pink shoes and pigtails. My sweet goddaughter is full of love and life. What great memories we can make with the loved ones in our lives.

Day 31 - No words needed

Day 30 - Signs of summer

The signs of summer are evident.

I came across this ice-cream caravan along my travels and it brought memories of my childhood summers rushing back. I could feel the freshly cut grass beneath my toes as I would wait impatiently for the ice cream man to make his rounds on my street. Beautiful summer is almost upon us!

Day 28 - Growth

Two new ducklings hatched today! They are growing so quickly, it's amazing to witness their transition from egg to duckling.

Growth is a miracle to watch, wether it be mental or physical, it can happen so quickly; a day appears when independence and strength are evident.
               It forever changes our world.

Day 27 - Anticipated Arrival

The moment came today where I was fortunate enough to witness the birth of this little duckling. He struggled valiantly to break through his shell, he was wet, cold and tired but victory was his!

His brothers and sisters crowded around impatiently, waiting for his anticipated arrival...

Day 26 - New Life

There's a tender moment to be had when embracing new life.  That moment in time where the world is perfect and beautiful.

Day 24 - Passage of time

The passage of time affects all things; it ages and deteriorates. We spend our lives locked into the notion of slowing down time and preserving our worlds. It is a race against the clock, but the clock always wins.

The passage of time should be embraced; it matures and dignifies. It is a sense of nostalgia and the power of wisdom. It holds a beauty unto its own, it is weathered but proud.
